How it works

The thesis

Meeting people is easy. Now comes the hard part.

Many apps and websites help you meet new people. What they fail at is helping you make lasting connections. Everyone focuses on the first event. But true connection needs time and repetition. Fourfold brings four compatible people together and creates enough shared experience for familiarity to become friendship.

Research supports the premise: a 2019 study found that friendship closeness rises with time spent together, estimating 80–100 hours to move from casual friend to friend and more than 200 hours to develop a close friendship. Hall, 2019 ↗

Serious commitment only: Fourfold works when all four people consistently show up and participate. Please apply only if you can commit to the full three-month experience. No flakers allowed.

How it works

Here's how Fourfold works

At Fourfold, groups and experiences are curated by our team. Nothing is completely outsourced to AI or an algorithm. We believe this high-touch approach makes a difference.

  • Groups always include the same four people for the duration of the series (six events)
  • Event schedules are provided before you commit
  • Light information about your matches is revealed once you commit but their identities are never revealed before you meet
  • Someone from our team organizes and attends all events until the end of the series
  • Group chats are created via WhatsApp after the first event
  • Groups are gender-balanced unless we specifically create same gender groups

We curate a group of four people whose compatibility, availability, and intentions give the group a real chance to click.

Commit together

Once all four people accept the match, the group is confirmed and each person pays the one-time group fee.

Meet twice a month for three months through six experiences shaped around your group—not a fixed, one-size-fits-all itinerary.

Pricing

One $50 group fee per person

The fee covers matching, group curation, a personalized six-experience plan, and coordination. Activity, food, and travel costs beyond the included first-event beverage are paid directly by each member.
